What does ginseng do to the human body?

Ginseng is a plant that offers various medicinal benefits. For many centuries now, it has been used in Asia and North America for treating a wide range of health issues. The two main types, Asian ginseng (aka Korean ginseng or Panax ginseng) and American ginseng (aka Panax quinquefolius), may differ in their effects (i.e., the Asian variety causes more stimulating effects than the American one) but both contain key active ingredients that make the health benefits associated with ginseng possible.

Improves erectile function – Research has found that the active compounds in ginseng may prevent the occurrence of oxidative stress in the penile tissues and blood vessels, supporting blood flow and restoring healthy erectile function.

Manages blood sugar levels – Certain studies have found that ginseng may help regulate the body’s insulin production and the absorption of blood sugar in the tissues, lowering the blood sugar levels of diabetic and non-diabetic people.
